About the artist
Gaëtan
Calsacy
Gaëtan is a French artist, born in 2002, whose work explores colour as a direct expression of emotion. His paintings combine vivid tones, strong contrasts, and a tactile use of material to create a visual language that feels both instinctive and deeply personal.
Inspired by Henri Matisse’s approach to colour and Edvard Munch’s emotional depth, he develops a practice rooted in oil and pastel. His work gives shape to raw, honest feeling through painting that is spontaneous, sensitive, and expressive.
Across his work, colour becomes more than a visual element. It becomes a way of conveying emotion, presence, and intimacy.
